Dr. Karki has been actively involved in establishing the field of Community Psychiatry in Nepal. He has been involved in formulation and implementation of mental health policies, increasing coverage of health insurance, training of health workers and conducting mental health camps throughout the country. His areas of special interest include telepsychiatry, community psychiatry and rehabilitation.
